This sculpture was commissioned by Melissa Stevens of Austin, Texas

and depicts the horse Kasteel a beautiful Dutch Warmblood. 

Kasteel is probably the most beautiful horse that I have ever seen 

with his arched neck and striking confirmation.  When the finishing touches 

were to be put on the piece I decided that the neck had to be lined with tiny

braids to bring out the natural curve. I think the fluid lines of the

neck and body help describe the effort of the jump.
